More than $25,000 has been shared among local, not-for-profit community organisations and groups out of Melton City Council’s Mayoral Charity Fund.
This week, City of Melton Mayor Cr Kathy Majdlik presented the funds in a special online event, with projects ranging from an edible community garden and new public seating, to an awareness campaign on the dangers of button batteries, all-abilities sport access, and mental health training.
City of Melton Mayor Cr Kathy Majdlik said she was pleased that the Mayoral Charity Fund would once again help initiate and enhance local activities.
“It’s an honour to support the wonderful work local groups and volunteers do to keep our community active and connected,” Cr Majdlik said.
“I commend each of these organisations for proposing initiatives that will bring such a broad range of benefits to so many people in our community.
“This fund was set up as an alternative to holding the traditional Mayoral Ball, and I’m so pleased to use this opportunity to acknowledge and thank local groups with these donations.”
