Victorian students once again failed by Daniel Andrews
Despite repeatedly being asked, Daniel Andrews has today refused to explain why it has taken so long to provide Victorians with details of how and when students will get back to school.
We know that the health advice has been that it is safe for students to return to the classroom but Andrews has refused to be upfront with Victorians about how our schools will get up and running again for too long.
Why didn’t Daniel Andrews announce Victoria’s return to school plan last week, instead of leaving Victorians in the dark about when students could get where they should be, learning in classrooms?
A worldwide pandemic is not the time for stage-managed media events, Victorians deserve and expect Daniel Andrews to be honest, and give the community the certainty they have been crying out for.
The Victorian Liberal ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s called on Daniel Andrews to allow Victorian students to return to school, together with appropriate health safeguards over two weeks ago.
Labor clearly knew last week when and how school was going back, they even had time to drop it to a weekend newspaper.
Victorians deserve better than being kept in the dark about how and when our kids will get back into the classroom.
If Daniel Andrews can get over playing politics with the education of our kids, it is the time to focus on delivering on, rather than spinning about, Victoria’s path out of the pandemic.
