‘Meet Einstein’ at Echuca Library

Meet Einstein

To celebrate ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Science Week, Echuca Library is conducting a very special story time session on Friday,18 August at 10.30am with the support of the Inspiring Victoria program. The session will be facilitated by TwistED Science, an Echuca-based business which brings science to life with engaging, informative and interesting sessions that appeal to children of all ages that encourage the love of learning – as well as having fun!

As the presenters read through the book Meet Einstein with the children, they will stop at various points a do a simple experiment. For example, when the book talks about gravity they will bring out a pom-pom popper, which are little tubes with some rubber on them. They will show the children that when you pull back on the rubber and let go, the pom-pom shoots into the air and it falls back down. Other experiments include baking soda and vinegar, water tension experiments, and things with magnetism.

The story time session is aimed at pre-school aged children, there is no cost and bookings are not required. The library staff look forward to seeing you there.

³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Science Week is Australia’s annual opportunity to meet scientists, discuss the hot topics, do science and celebrate its cultural and economic impact on society.

First held in 1997, ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Science Week has become one of Australia’s largest festivals. Last year about 1.9 million people participated in more than 1650 events and activities.
