Meet leading architect and educator Jefa Greenaway who is appearing as part of Melbourne Design Week in Geelong.
Victoria’s first Indigenous architect, Jefa is Chair of indigenous Architecutre + Design Victoria, a not-for-profit providing encouragement to mainstream architects to be more engaged with Indigenous culture. He has worked on an Australian Indigenous Design Charter as well as the International Indigenous Design Charter and has been published widely in the Age, Herald Sun, Architecture Review, Belle and more.
Jefa will talk about giving agency to indigenous voices through design, celebration and embedding cultural significance beyond cliches and stereotypes.
This event is being presented by the City in partnership with Geelong Regional Libraries as part of Melbourne Design Week in Geelong, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with NGV.
Jefa will appear at the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre on Saturday 23 March from 10.30am to 12 noon. The event is free but bookings are essential.
