Rapid Apprehension Squad detectives have charged a man in relation to an armed robbery incident in Melville yesterday, Friday 8 December 2023.
About 6:25pm, a man entered a liquor store on Leach Highway and produced a knife, demanding money from a female staff member. The staff member complied with the demands and the man left the store with an amount of cash.
Police attended and commenced an investigation into the incident.
About 9:40pm, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Norkus Way, Willagee. Several items of interest to the investigation were seized, and a 34-year-old man was arrested.
The 34-year-old Willagee man has since been charged with:
– Armed Robbery
– Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
– Possess a Prohibited Drug (Cannabis)
– Possess Drug Paraphernalia
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Saturday 9 December 2023.
