The West Coast Council has signed a memorandum of understanding with West Coast Mountain Bike Club to support undertaking maintenance and improvements on the West Coast’s Mt Owen and the Heemskirk trail networks.
This is a great partnership which allows the MTB Club to be involved in looking after our trails, as some of the primary users, we are sure they will do a great job.
Council is pleased to be able to partner with a local community group and are excited to see to benefits that the partnership will bring to our region and to the club.
Aaron Stewart of WCMBC said “It’s great to formalise a working arrangement where our passionate local riders are empowered to assist in keeping our trails running in good condition.
This, in addition to our established relationships with other land managers in the area, is an important foundation for developing and adding to our growing list of awesome riding opportunities on the West Coast”.
