The Campaspe Murray Mental Health and Wellbeing Network is hosting a Mental Health Month Community Services Expo on 19 October to promote community education, awareness and advocacy around mental health in the region.
The expo will be held at Hopwood Gardens in Echuca with the aim to promote education, awareness and advocacy for mental health.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said the expo will be full of resources to help those struggling and also raise awareness in the shire.
“Up to one third of Australian workers are affected by mental illness, yet many don’t seek help because of the stigma. This is why we run events across the month of October, to put a spotlight on mental health and break down the barriers.
“The expo will call on many local businesses and organisations. There will be an art installation sculpture from Njernda, a BBQ lunch by the Lions Club and multiple service provider information stalls from across the shire.
“Council will also be running social wellbeing program stalls and many local businesses have put forward donations for the event. We are very grateful for the support,” Cr Amos added.
