Metro will be conducting critical safety works on the Sandringham Line in September.
The works form part of Metro’s annual works program to maintain and renew the rail network.
The Abbott Street, Sandringham level crossing will be temporarily closed from 9:00pm Sunday 17 September to 4:00am Wednesday 20 September.
The Sandringham Station car park will be temporarily closed from 10:00pm Wednesday 13 September to 6:00pm Friday 22 September.
Traffic management and detours will be in place via Station, Beaumont and Trentham Streets, to assist vehicles moving through the area. Pedestrians are advised to detour via the Bamfield Street rail underpass or Bay Road.
During these works, there will be an increase in trucks in the area. Machinery will be in operation during these works, and high to medium levels of noise are to be expected.
Please allow for additional journey time when travelling through the area.
