Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Infrastructure
I am pleased to announce that Tim Gardner has been appointed as Chair of the Metro Tasmania Board.
Mr Gardner has been a director on the Board since December 2015 and has been Deputy Chair since December 2016.
He brings with him extensive experience in executive management and leadership roles including as Executive Chairman of Stornoway, as State President of the Australian Water Association, and Chair of the Engineers Australia (Tasmania) Workforce Development Advisory Group.
Mr Gardner has been acting Chair since the resignation of Michael Harris in January 2019 to take up the role as ACT Auditor General.
I am confident Mr Gardner has the experience and insight to lead Metro into the future and ensure the best possible public transport services are available for all Tasmanians.
I thank Mr Harris for his work as previous Chair of the Metro Board and wish him well in his new position.
