We are excited to share Mundaring Arts Centre Incorporated (MAC Inc), who manage the City’s iconic Midland Junction Arts Centre (MJAC), have been successful in securing Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC), Arts Organisations Investment Program (AOIP) funding for the next four years.
In the City of Swan, we are proud to foster a strong arts and culture base, by providing support to a range of cultural venues helping to shape the City into an even more vibrant place to live and visit.
This funding awarded to the City’s not-for-profit signature cultural venue MJAC, aims to build a strong creative sector in our State, and enable the production unique cultural and creative experiences that can celebrated nationally and internationally.
MAC Inc. will receive $1,120,000 ($280,000 per annum over four years) from the State Government starting January 2024, with the funding shared across their two venues MJAC and Mundaring Arts Centre.
The funding will assist to deliver fantastic MJAC exhibitions and programs for the local community, such as annual exhibition showcasing Aboriginal artwork of Western Australia, an annual scholarship for an emerging artist to kick-start their career at MJAC, and an annual film festival showcasing documentaries in the MJAC auditorium, to name a few.
MAC Inc. received praise from the AOIP funding panel for their vision to develop MJAC as our State’s key multi-form arts hub of the East Outer-Metropolitan Region.
