Toowoomba City Library

The Toowoomba City Library community rooms reached a significant milestone in May, welcoming its 500,000th visitor through the doors.

Opening in 2016, Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Environment and Community Committee Chair Cr James O’Shea said the rooms provided a valuable meeting area for residents.

“These meeting rooms all contain high quality projectors and screens which allows all types of groups to come together,” he said.

“We get a wide range of groups from yoga and meditation classes, life skills workshops for refugees, Auslan classes, Toastmasters, support groups, sewing and embroidery groups and everything in between.

“The fact half a million people have come through the doors just goes to show how important these meeting rooms are to our community.”

In total the Toowoomba City Library has 10 meeting rooms which caters for groups from four to 120 people in size.

The rooms are wheelchair accessible, with Wi-Fi and projector cables available. The rooms are able to be booked by any organisation or community group, with prices to suit different categories of users.
