Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is today unveiling a new tipping competition where someone will win a first prize of $10,000, centering around its flagship event, the TAB Million Dollar Chase series.
The competition will see entrants select a runner in each of 35 big races:
· * the 14 TAB Million Dollar Chase Regional Finals around the State;
· * the six TAB Million Dollar Chase City Preludes;
· * the eight TAB Million Dollar Chase semi-finals;
· * the six other feature races on MDC Grand Final night;
· * the $1 million-to-the-winner TAB Million Dollar Chase Grand Final on May 7.
Entrants – who must be 18 and over – can select any dog in each of the events, with points awarded on a basis of 10 points for a winner, five points for the runner-up and three points for third. The person who accumulates the most points across the 35 races will collect the $10,000 prize. The competition runner-up will receive $5,000 and the third placegetter collects $3,000.
“GRNSW is always looking at innovative ways to encourage people to become involved with our great sport,” GRNSW General Manager, Commercial & Marketing Nick Babos said.
“Many of us take part weekly in footy tipping competitions, and the TAB Million Dollar Chase Tipping competition is very similar, with people able to input their tips on the platform either using a mobile device or a PC.
“We see digital engagement as the perfect fit for our audience, who are young and digitally connected and this is something which has never been done before in our racing code.
“It’s free to play, and you can also create your own private league with your mates to find out once and for all who is the best tipster, with a $10,000 first prize up for grabs for the overall winner.
“Only eight participants can have a greyhound racing for $1 million on TAB Million Dollar Chase Grand Final night, but anyone over 18 has the chance get involved in our competition. It will certainly add to the build-up and excitement leading into a huge grand final night.
The TAB Million Dollar Tipping competition is set to begin on April 7 when the first regional finals of the Chase will be staged. The competition will be played across six rounds, each round broken into a series of races as they fall on the racing calendar.
The opening round will see entrants tip one dog in each of the regional finals at Casino, Gunnedah, Dapto and Goulburn.
The second round will encompass the finals at Temora, Nowra, Bulli and Dubbo.
The third round takes in the last of the regional finals at Wagga, The Gardens, Grafton, Bathurst, Maitland and Gosford.
Round four will be the six MDC Preludes at Wentworth Park on April 23, followed by round five, the eight MDC semi-finals on April 29.
On MDC Grand Final night, entrants will tip in seven feature events: The Gold Cup Final, the MDC Maiden Final, the MDC Consolation, the Master Meteor Final, the Ladies Bracelet Final, the Bob Payne Sprint Final, and of course the TAB Million Dollar Chase Grand Final.
