AusBiotech is pleased to announce that Tim Pallas MP, the Victorian Minister for Economic Growth, and the Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP, the Victorian Minister for Jobs and Industry, will both speak at Australia’s biggest week in biotech – AusBioInvest and AusBiotech 2024.

The Victorian State Government is the Host State Partner for this year’s AusBioInvest and AusBiotech Conference in Melbourne, running from Tuesday, 29 October until Friday 1 November.

AusBiotech CEO Rebekah Cassidy highlighted the Victorian Government’s partnership and support as a vital contributor to Australia’s thriving life sciences sector.

“One of the pre-eminent biotechnology industry conferences in the Asia-Pacific region, AusBiotech’s four-day conference is Australia’s largest annual biotechnology gathering. It convenes Australia’s leading life science players and attracts a global audience of delegates and investors,” she said.

Tim Pallas MP, Minister for Economic Growth, will officially open AusBioInvest on 29 October. The one-day AusBioInvest programme will welcome over 250 delegates representing Australia’s leading life science companies and local and global investors at the Park Hyatt, Melbourne.

“From the lab to clinical trials to manufacturing – Victoria has a thriving biotechnology sector that is providing great local jobs and breakthrough research. We are proud to host AusBioInvest and the AusBiotech Conference this year, and the hundreds of delegates who are investing in Victoria” said Tim Pallas MP, Minister for Economic Growth.

AusBiotech CEO Rebekah Cassidy said we are honoured to have the Minister for Economic Growth join AusBioInvest.

“Minister Pallas has been a long-term supporter of Victoria and Australia’s thriving biotech ecosystem. We couldn’t be more pleased to have him open what is undoubtedly one of Australia’s premier life sciences investment events.”

The Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP, Minister for Jobs and Industry, will formally welcome the conference’s more than 1,500 participants, including 200 international delegates from 20 countries, on 30 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“Victoria is one of the leading technology hubs in the world, and we are proud to host both the 2024 AusBioInvest and AusBiotech conferences in our great state.

“Our health technology sector is one of Victoria’s greatest assets – creating more than $3 billion worth of exports, employing more than 51,000 people, and providing world class healthcare for all Victorians.” said Minister Hutchins.

Rebekah Cassidy said, “we are grateful to Minister Hutchins for her ongoing support of Australia’s thriving life sciences industry. We look forward to her officially opening AusBiotech 2024 and welcoming our members and delegates to Victoria”.

And as we continue to face global healthcare challenges, our capacity to innovate and commercialise cutting-edge medical advancements has never been more critical.”

The Hon. Ben Carroll, Victoria’s Minister for Medical Research, said, “It is a great opportunity for delegates to see firsthand Victoria’s research precincts, showcasing our world-class medical research institutes and biotech industry, to spark new ideas and partnerships.”
