MinterEllison has advised the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA), Project Office within the Victoria Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA), on the New Melton Hospital public-private partnership (PPP).
Marking a critical phase in the progression of Melbourne’s western healthcare infrastructure, the recent commencement of site works is a clear signal of the project’s transition from planning to action. The New Melton Hospital is set to significantly bolster the local economy by creating over 700 direct and 1,700 indirect jobs during its construction phase.
With the groundworks set to pave the way for the main construction, which is scheduled to conclude in 2029, this project represents a significant development under the Partnerships Victoria framework. Our involvement affirms MinterEllison’s dedication to enhancing community services through superior infrastructure.
MinterEllison’s expertise has been instrumental in identifying project risks and devising strategies to mitigate them, engaging with stakeholders such as the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) and Western Health, and facilitating market engagement.
The MinterEllison team was led by Partners Stewart Nankervis and Owen Cooper.
