The hArt 24 exhibition’s First Nations Art Sharing Circlewas a resounding success, bringing together community members of all ages foran intimate and enriching cultural experience.
Held on Sunday 28 July, the event featured Taungurungvisual artist, Talitha-Sarai Annuscheit alongside Wotjobaluk and Gunaikurnaiweaver, Bobbie Pepper, who shared their cultural and artistic practices in awarm and welcoming environment.
Participants enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere, sharing acuppa as Bobbie, a traditional weaver, guided the group through the process ofcreating beautiful woven bracelets.
Talitha captivated the attendees withinsights into her art practice, including her unique hand-painted shoes, whichsparked a lively discussion about creativity and cultural expression.
The workshop concluded with an impromptu artist floortalk, where other exhibiting artists shared the stories behind their worksfeatured in hArt 24.
The session provided a deeper understanding of the richcultural heritage and artistic talent within the Mitchell Shire community and asafe space to share artistic insights.
