Moama, Barham and Tooleybuc Recreation Reserve Masterplans

Murray River Council

Updated master plans for Moama, Barham and Tooleybuc Recreation Reserves have been adopted by Murray River Council this week.

The documents provide a 10-year plan to guide the development and management of the reserves.

Council engaged consultants CT Management to undertake a review of the 3 reserves to determine the needs, demands and future requirements of the local committees and broader users.

The Moama and Barham Reserves had previous master plans delivered in 2008 and 2016 respectively, with both needing updating to reflect development.

This is the first plan for the Tooleybuc Recreation reserve.

Mayor Chris Bilkey said extensive consultation was undertaken directly with the Section 355 Committees responsible for management on the Reserves, local communities and sporting bodies.

“With a variety of user groups at each reserve, it’s important to ensure all thoughts and ideas are adequately captured.”

“The project also saw an extensive assessment of the existing asset conditions, buildings, amenities, structures, fencing and sports field surface conditions to determine the current and future needs for each reserve.”

Cr Bilkey said the final reports and plans now offer a clear pathway for maintenance and development moving forward.

“I’d encourage people to take a look at the plans and understand how the reserves will be managed into the future.”

The adopted masterplans will soon be available on council’s website.
