Mobile COVID-19 testing clinics on move in Tasmania

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Health

There was 1042 tests processed from across the State yesterday – one of our highest testing days to date and I thank the hundreds of Tasmanians who have made this possible.

Continuing a high testing rate is really important as we try to avoid a second wave of COVID-19 in our community.

That’s why, despite 20 days without a positive COVID-19 case in Tasmania, it is vital people continue to get tested as we bring forward Stage 2 restrictions from today.

In addition to our clinics in Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie, people will again have access to our drive-up regional mobile testing clinics over the weekend.

They will be stationed at the Rokeby Police Academy and Boyer Oval in New Norfolk tomorrow and Sunday, between 10am and 3:30pm. There is no booking required.

Drive-up clinics will also be held at Zions Hill Church, 7-21 Warring Street, Ravenswood and Cowle Road, Bridgewater (next door to the fire station) from Tuesday to Thursday next week between 10am and 3:30pm. There is no booking required.

Tasmanians can arrange an appointment by contacting the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 or by contacting their GP.

If you have any symptoms such as a sniffle, fever, cough, sore or scratchy throat or shortness of breath it’s really important to go and get tested.
