Monash University has continued its rise in the US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2024-25, rising two places to 35th in the world.
This latest rankings performance reflects Monash’s continued strength in research and education among the 2250 institutions ranked across 104 countries, steadily rising 27 places since 2018. Monash now ranks third in Australia, up from equal fourth in the previous edition.
Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Sharon Pickering said these latest rankings underscore Monash’s standing as a leading global university addressing the significant challenges of the age through excellent education and research.
“These rankings are a testament to Monash’s commitment to excellence and the calibre of our staff in delivering education and research of the highest international standard to address the challenges of the age for the benefit of communities globally,” Professor Pickering said.
The US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings also assess individual subjects. Our top-20 ranked subjects globally include:
- Pharmacy and Toxicology: 5th
- Education and Educational Research: 8th
- Economics and Business: 9th
- Endocrinology and Metabolism: 16th
- Public, Environmental and Occupational Health: 19th
Monash’s result in these rankings follows our excellent performance in the
