This month, Indonesia became the latest global destination for Monash University’s Change ExhibIT and the documentary feature film, The Endangered Generation?
Installed at The Breeze, BSD Green Office Park, until 14 May, the interactive Change ExhibIT encourages our community to consider what the future might look like if we don’t combat our world’s most pressing problems. The activation uses interactive technology to tell the life journey from the perspective of eight children – highlighting the various environmental and societal challenges they may face as they grow and the fundamental role of the University’s education and research in creating a sustainable future for current and future generations.
The Change ExhibIT was accompanied by Change It. Together. on 12 May – a day of thought provoking conversations and networking where alumni, current students, industry partners, academic partners learnt from our leading experts and shared their experiences. Led by academic thought leaders, panel discussions covered artificial intelligence for a greener future; impact of climate change on youth mental health; fintech and financial inclusion; and digital transformation and public policy.
Change It. Together. culminated with a private screening of The Endangered Generation? on 12 May hosted by Professor Andrew MacIntyre, President of Monash University Indonesia.
First premiering at the Melbourne International Film Festival in August 2022 and screened to a private audience in Prato, Italy, the following September, The Endangered Generation? showcases how Monash thought leaders and their fellow change makers are making exceptional contributions towards addressing some of the world’s greatest concerns, and urges viewers to consider future-focused action.
“Combined, the Change ExhibIT, Change It. Together. event and The Endangered Generation? screening at Monash University Indonesia proved to be a fantastic opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about the future of our planet,” said Professor MacIntyre. “It was inspiring to see participants actively reflect on the actions we must take to ensure the next generation can thrive.”
Members of the public will be able to continue to enjoy the Change ExhibIT at The Breeze, BSD Green Office Park, free of charge until 14 May.
