The Albanese Labor Government is delivering more homes for Territorians who need them with new funding for homes in Tennant Creek.
This new project will deliver 12 new two‑bedroom homes for Indigenous Australians, older women at risk of homelessness, and women and children fleeing domestic and family violence.
The Albanese Labor Government is contributing $3 million in funding through Housing Australia to help build these new homes.
Through our ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s for Australia plan the Albanese Labor Government has committed to $32 billion in new housing initiatives.
We need to build more homes, more quickly, in all parts of Australia.
Which is why the Albanese Labor Government has an ambitious national goal of building 1.2 million homes by the end of the decade.
We’re working with states and territories like the Northern Territory to help meet this target.
The Albanese Labor Government has already provided $50 million to the Northern Territory from the Social Housing Accelerator, which will deliver up to 100 new social homes across the territory.
Applications closed earlier this year for the first round of funding for social and affordable homes under the $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund and the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Housing Accord.
