More South Australians in work amid full-time jobs boost

An additional 13,400 South Australians are in full-time jobs, according to latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Today’s Labor Force numbers reveal the number of South Australians with a full time job is up 13,400 to 592,800 people.

The total number of South Australians with a job has increased to 886,200 – up 4,000 in the past month.

South Australia’s underemployment rate is 6.5 per cent, down from 7.6 per cent last month. This is the lowest underemployment rate since 2008.

While the raw numbers are pleasing and the jobless rate is historically low, South Australia’s unemployment rate remains the highest in Australia at 4.6 per cent, showing there is still work to do. This compares with 5.9 per cent this time last year.
