MPF was selected by Councillor Holland as the 2023 Mayoral Charity recipient because of their commitment to the growth and development of schools and community organisations on the Mornington Peninsula. Their efforts support initiatives for equal access to opportunities and resources for young people.
MPF recently worked with the Southern Peninsula Education Cluster (Rosebud Secondary College and three local primary schools – Tootgarook, Eastbourne and Rye) on a transition to the Science of Learning. This focuses on behaviour and literacy for children and young people in the area. Additionally, MPF supports the Western Port Learning Guarantee (WPLG).
Quotes attributable to Briars Ward Councillor Steve Holland:
“There are countless people to thank for supporting another successful Mayoral Charity Event. Thank you to our generous sponsors, Shaw and Partners and Community Bank Mount Eliza (Bendigo Bank), my fellow Councillors, Shire staff and everyone in our community who donated.
“Congratulations to the winners of the incredible raffle prizes, donated by our very generous local businesses!
“I chose MPF because of their steadfast commitment to breaking cycles of disadvantage on the Mornington Peninsula and for their particular focus on young people and their education outcomes. I know our donations will help local schools, community organisations and young people and families in need. I encourage everyone in our community to learn more about the work of MPF in our community.”
