A man is due in Burwood court today after a large sum of cash was seized in Maquarie Park yesterday.
Officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad attended a unit on Halifax Street, Macquarie Park, about 6:45am yesterday (Thursday 18 January 2024), in relation to a firearms prohibition order.
During a search of the property, a large sum of cash was located, and a crime scene was declared.
A warrant was later executed at the property with officers seizing more than $750,000 in cash.
The occupant, a 35-year-old man with links to alleged OMCG, was arrested and taken to Gladesville Police Station where he was charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal.
He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 19 January 2023).
