Greensborough Highway Patrol officers have allegedly caught two road users travelling at more than twice the speed limit.
Members detected a motorcycle travelling east on Bell Street, Preston at 143km/h in a 60km/h zone about 11.30am on 6 November.
The rider, 26-year-old Croydon man, produced a Victorian Learner Permit when he was pulled over.
Police will allege he was not riding a Learner approved motorcycle and was not wearing a high visibility vest.
The man’s motorcycle was impounded for 30 days and he will face court at a later date for several traffic related offences.
In a separate incident, Greensborough Highway Patrol members detected a 51-year-old Bundoora man travelling east on Settlement Road, Thomastown, at 137km/h in a 60hm/h zone.
The man underwent a breath test and returned an alleged alcohol reading on .112.
His licence was immediately suspended and he will face court at a later date for offences including drink driving and driving at a dangerous speed.
