Enjoy a morning of laughter, a little music, and sheer entertainment with world-renowned pianist and comedian David Scheel on Thursday 8 February 2024.
After the long-standing international success of his flagship show, Don’t Shoot Me, I’m Only the Piano Player, and its sequel, Mad Maestros, comes David’s brand-new show Growing Old Ungracefully.
This is a hilarious take on the ageing process and a personal view as David’s own hair begins to change colour! Nothing is sacred: health issues, dodgy product labelling, scammers targeting older people, even the taboos of sex, religion and politics! This is high class, sophisticated and witty comedy from an older person with a very sharp, young mind.
And among it all, David’s trademark brilliance on the piano intersperses all the fun with beautiful music. A show not to be missed, enjoy morning tea from 10am then be entertained by hilarious sketches, and, of course, incredible piano skills.
Griffith Regional Theatre Manager, Marg Andreazza said, “David Scheel is famous for his unique talent of blending music and comedy and is regarded as one of the finest musical humourists globally.”
Described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “the only show in town that can satisfy lovers of classical music and stand-up comedy alike”, David Scheel is hailed as the successor to the legendary Victor Borge with Broadway World magazine naming him the funniest pianist in the world.
Griffith Regional Theatre Manager, Marg Andreazza concludes, “David Scheel’s performance promises a morning of entertainment with musical brilliance and comedic charm!”
