May’s Morning Melodies at the Pilbeam Theatre takes us back to the swinging sixties with a tribute to one of the most successful female British pop singers of the era, Dusty Springfield.
Central Queensland’s own Amanda Hock stars in the show which features hits songs along with fascinating insights into the pop diva’s life.
Amanda is no stranger to the music of Dusty Springfield. She stunned audiences with her portrayal of the singer in Rockhampton Regional Council’s musical Dusty in 2012.
In this specially created Morning Melodies concert, Amanda takes away the big hair and glamorous outfits of the stage musical to reveal her own intimate tribute.
The show takes audiences through Dusty’s early years, her hits, her borrowed songs and her personal favourites.
Featured songs include: I Only Want To Be With You, Stay Awhile, The Look of Love, Son of a Preacher Man, and many more you might not even know she recorded!
Amanda is a veteran of many Rockhampton Regional Council produced musicals. Some of her favourite lead roles have been in Dusty, Wicked. Chicago, The Last 5 Years, Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia!
