There’s plenty of ways to celebrate with mum this Mother’s Day.
1. High tea at Spicers Hidden Vale
Say thank you to mum with a sumptuous high tea in relaxed country style at Homage Restaurant. Be welcomed with a glass of rose or sparkling wine and indulge in a selection of sweet and savoury treats while taking in the spectacular views.
2. Groovin’ in the Grove
On Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12, take mum to Groovin’ in the Grove at Watercress Creek Olives and Limes. The event will feature a live musician and picnics in the grove from 3pm till 7pm. There will also be food vans on site and picnic hampers you can pre-book.
3. Mother’s Day picnic
Book in a lux picnic at The Soul Nook Collective the day before Mother’s Day (Saturday May 11) and celebrate the special ladies in your life.
Enjoy a semi chill’d picnic for $40pp with a small posie of flowers, a grazing box, cafe drinks and live music under shady trees.
Picnics will run from 9am to 2pm.
4. Bakehouse Steakhouse special two or three course menu
Bakehouse Steakhouse are offering a special two ($55) or three ($65) course menu for Mother’s Day. Entrees include crispy fried lemon pepper squid, lemon and chilli sautéed bugs, herbed potato croquette or bruschetta. For mains you can choose from dry-aged eye fillet, slow cooked beef cheek, triple mushroom and asparagus risotto, chicken roulade or crispy skin Humpty Doo barramundi. Dessert options are Nutella chocolate brownie, walnut and white chocolate carrot cake or Bakehouse pastry.
5. Take mum to the theatre
Gift mum theatre tickets to Ipswich Little Theatre’s next show Stepping Out.
The show runs from 15 May to 1 June, with public nightly performances at 8pm on May 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and June 1 and Sunday Matinees at 2pm on 19 and 26 May.
Friday, May 17 sees the return of the very popular complimentary wine and cheese evening. Patrons are invited to join in the fun of the play by dressing up in 80’s fashion on each of the Friday nights May 17, 24, 31, if they choose.
