Multiple Queensland Fire & Emergency Service crews are currently on scene at a vegetation fire burning near Anderson Road, Marnane Road, Kippin Road, Mount Emerald, Springmount (northwest of Tolga). The fire broke out on Saturday and is posing no threat to property at this time. Fire crews are continuing to conduct backburning operations in the area with aerial support.
Smoke is affecting the area and may impact Oaky Valley and Springmount throughout the day. Nearby residents may be affected by a smoke haze. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
