- The LCG program provides funding for local innovations and projects that support decarbonisation in Western Australia
- Grants of between $5 million to $15 million are now available
Western Australian innovators with projects focused on decarbonisation can now apply for grants from the Lower Carbon Grants (LCG) Program – Gorgon Fund.
Innovation and the Digital Economy Minister Stephen Dawson said there was a total of $33.6 million available in the LCG program. The funding provides for large research and innovation activities across industries that significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions or test, demonstrate and deploy technologies that support lower carbon projects.
The funding is also available for innovators who can offer industry translatable solutions which have the potential to solve issues in current supply chains.
Grants provided to successful projects range from $5 million up to $15 million.
The LCG program and the establishment of a GreenTech Hub are part of a four-year $40 million funding agreement between the Cook Government and the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, which is funded by the Gorgon Joint Venture.
The GreenTech Hub, which is being funded with $4 million over four years, will focus on accelerating green technologies and services in Western Australia. The operator of the hub is expected to be announced shortly.
Applications for the LCG program will close on June 6. For more information see:
