Munruben’s Mount Lindesay Highway widening complete

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

An almost four-kilometre stretch of the Mount Lindesay Highway from Park Ridge to Munruben has been widened from two lanes to four, helping Logan residents get home to their families faster.

The upgrade will allow more cars to flow between Stoney Camp Road and Chambers Flat Road and is part of the 10-year, Mount Lindesay Highway upgrade program.

All lanes will be open to traffic next month (early February).

The $75 million project was funded 50:50 between the Albanese and Palaszczuk Governments, supporting an average of 80 direct, good jobs.

As well as widening the highway from two to four lanes and building new north and southbound bridges over Norris Creek, safety and noise barriers were installed and the Stoney Camp Road exit ramp modified.

New rope crossings and wildlife habitats have also improved fauna protection and connectivity.

More than $180 million has been invested in the highway as part of the 10-year upgrade program, including:

  • $2 million Millstream Road intersection – delivered 2015
  • $7 million Camp Cable Road intersection – delivered 2016
