A captivating new children’s book, My Moonbeam & Sunshine Boys, devised and written by local author and teacher Emilee Nealon (pictured above), will be launched on Saturday, 12 August from 10am at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor. All welcome.
Emilee has collaborated with local artist and student, Emma Hennessy to create this special keepsake. Both author and illustrator have drawn inspiration from the natural world around them, with the intent to help all children see the beauty and wonder that can be found anywhere we go.
This children’s picture book is designed to enchant growing, young minds with the magic of reading and also to remind adults of the importance of connecting with their inner child.
It is a tale that invites young children and their families and friends to explore the whimsical world inspired by the author’s two young boys. It aims to evoke the power of using imagination to explore the world, much like the beautiful landscapes that surround the Hawkesbury Local Government Area and the local waterways.
Illustrator Emma Hennessy (pictured below) has brought the words to life through her magical hand drawn and painted watercolour pictures. Each artwork was meticulously created with thoughtfulness and flair. The imagery brings the worlds of day and night to life through each of the boy’s characters and motifs.
This is a free event however bookings are essential via or call the Library on 4560 4460.
