NAB today announces it will not close any branches in its rural and regional network until at least 31 July 2027.
The announcement comes as the bank continues to expand its customer-centric initiatives, including the recent introduction of Saturday branch openings.
Group Executive for Personal Banking, Ana Marinkovic said:
“While digital banking continues to evolve, we firmly believe that face-to-face banking services remain essential for many Australians.
“Our recent move to Saturday branch openings demonstrates our conviction that while digital is foundational, a human touch is just as important in the moments that matter for our customers”
NAB maintains the strongest regional presence of any major bank in Australia, with 47% of its branch network serving regional communities.
NAB has invested $41 million across its branches over the last year to better serve customers.
NAB is also pleased to have reached a new in-principle agreement with Australia Post to continue to support Bank@Post services, particularly in regional and rural Australia, and at the same time support the small business owners who run them.
