NAB surges ahead in “Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies”

NAB is the top-rated Australian company in the , recently announced by Corporate Knights at the World Economic Forum Summit in Davos, Switzerland.

NAB was ranked 42nd in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies list based on the Morgan Stanley Corporation International (MSCI) index and public disclosures on NAB’s financial and sustainability performance.

David Gall, Chief Customer Officer – Corporate and Institutional Banking said the ranking reinforces NAB’s strong focus on making a positive and lasting impact on customers, communities and the environment.

“NAB has helped finance a green revolution in Australia over the past 17 years. Last year, NAB provided project finance for its 130th renewable energy transaction since 2003,” he said.

“The project finance (PF) portfolio plays a big role in supporting Australia and New Zealand’s growth. Our in-house expertise and passion for this space has enabled us to become Australia’s leading arranger of project finance for Australian renewable energy, helping our customers and community make the low-carbon transition,” Mr Gall said.

“NAB[1] has raised almost A$4.5 billion[2] through its own issuance of green and social bonds, in addition to bringing another 25 green, social and sustainability bonds to market for clients across Australia and New Zealand. We continue to innovate and develop new sustainable finance offerings to meet growing customer demand. These include Australia’s first retail green term deposit offering for UBank and NAB’s first green residential mortgage-backed security. Other recent examples several include numerous sustainability-linked loans (SLL) and green asset backed securities (ABS) for customers,” Mr Gall said.
