Liverpool City Council is celebrating ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Families Week with an expo day at the Carnes Hill Community & Recreation Precinct on Saturday, 18 May.
With polling booths available right at the precinct, voters can turn election day into a fun family outing by simply bringing the kids along and exploring all the expo has to offer after voting.
The expo will both highlight community services available to families and provide a great day of live entertainment, amusement rides, stalls, food and drink, and fun activities for children.
“Family is at the heart of all communities and no more so than in Liverpool,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.
“³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Families Week is about celebrating families in all their diversity and focusing on all the ways we can help support them to be the best they can be.
“And of course families are also very much about fun – and we’ve made sure there’s plenty of that to be found at the expo.”
Anyone keen to try skateboarding should roll up to the beginners’ workshops for mums, dads and kids at the Carnes Hill Skate Plaza.
The expo will also include a Biggest Morning Tea Stall, with every dollar raised helping to fund life-saving research and prevention programs to fight cancer.
Visitors to the expo will be able to get information from a wide range of organisations including health, youth, out-of-home care, family support, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, multicultural, aged, disability and children’s services.
The ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Families Week expo runs from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, 18 May at Carnes Hill Community & Recreation Precinct.
