Work has commenced on a new nature play area, located in North Kellyville, that will provide endless hours of fun and a habitat for local wildlife.
The brand-new Withers Road Reserve will include a nature themed playground with shade sail, that will cater to a wide range of age groups and abilities.
On top of this, the Reserve will feature a half basketball court, a turf kick-about area, and concrete pathways that are perfect for children to ride their bikes, skateboards or scooters.
Much of the onsite vegetation will also be retained to provide a habitat for birds, insects and lizards, as well as make a relaxing green space for the local community to unwind and enjoy the lush picnic areas
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi said he was proud that Council was creating an interactive play space that also allows visitors to connect with nature.
“We know how important our green spaces are for our health and wellbeing, and how popular they are with our residents,” Mayor Gangemi said.
“Once complete, this facility will provide a fun place where families and friends can spend time together out in nature, in the heart of North Kellyville.
“Council is proud to be a part of this fantastic project that supports community connections within a natural environment where our native animals and vegetation can thrive.
“I look forward to seeing this facility progressing,” Mayor Gangemi added.
