State Highway Patrol officers have impounded a car after it was detected allegedly speeding in Doveton early Saturday morning.
Officers detected a blue Audi sedan allegedly travelling at 170km/h along Monash Freeway, a 100km/h speed zoned area, about 3am on 14 September.
The car was intercepted, and the 42-year-old driver underwent a preliminary breath test, returning an alleged reading of .087.
Checks revealed that the Bairnsdale man’s license was disqualified.
He is expected to be charged on summons for drink driving and driving offences and had his car impounded for 30 days with towing and storage costs of $1027.
