Roger Jaensch,Minister for Human Services
During the election the Hodgman Liberal Government made a commitment to establish a Protocol for Neighbourhood Houses, aimed at encouraging Tasmanian Government agencies and Neighbourhood Houses to work together to strengthen local partnerships.
Today, I released the protocol, which commits to improving collaboration between Neighbourhood Houses and Government agencies including health, education, police and transport, to ensure services are accessible to those who need them.
By working closely together, we can all help deliver better outcomes for Tasmanians in need.
The Hodgman Liberal Government funds 34 Neighbourhood and Community Houses across the State, and are at the heart of our local communities.
They promote social inclusion, provide community-led programs, and help Tasmanians in need access important services.
I would like to sincerely thank the staff and many volunteers who dedicate their time to running Neighbourhood Houses, and helping others.
