Attorney-General Gordon Ramsay today announced the appointment of Mr Robert Crowe SC as an Acting Judge of the ACT Supreme Court.
“Mr Crowe is a highly distinguished member of the ACT legal community and brings a wealth of experience to this important judicial role,” Minister Ramsay said.
The appointment provides an additional resource to support the Court to manage an upcoming period of leave for the Associate Judge.
“Mr Crowe had a busy civil law practice prior to his retirement in 2017 and was, until his retirement, an active participant in the local Bar Association,” Minister Ramsay said.
“He served as the Bar Association’s President from 2003 to 2005 and was also its representative on the ACT Rules Advisory Committee for over twenty years.
“Mr Crowe’s strong civil experience and his commitment to serving the Canberra community will make him an asset to the bench.”
Mr Crowe holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the Australian ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ University and was admitted as a lawyer in 1980. He was appointed as Senior Counsel in 2003.
“I welcome Mr Crowe to the ACT Supreme Court and look forward to his continued contribution to the ACT in this role,” Minister Ramsay said.
The appointment is for 12 months from 1 June 2019.
