Disability Services Minister Don Punch has today announced the release of the Third Action Plan to support the State Government’s 10-year whole-of-community vision to build a more inclusive Western Australia.
A Western Australia for Everyone: State Disability Strategy 2020-2030 outlines a 10-year strategy to protect, uphold and advance the rights of people with disability living in WA.
The Third Action Plan comprises 69 actions, involving 17 public and private sector agencies, that will positively impact the lives of people with disability across WA communities.
The Action Plan is reflective of the Cook Government’s ongoing commitment to support and progress the interests, wellbeing, and inclusion of all Western Australians living with disability.
The action plans aligned to the strategy are reviewed every two years to ensure the initiatives being undertaken are contemporary and continue to respond to the needs and priorities of people with disability.
The strategy commits State Government agencies, disability service providers, industry and community organisations to targets and changes to create a more inclusive WA for everyone.

“There are around 411,500 people with disability who call Western Australia home.
“Everyone has the right to live meaningful, connected lives, free from barriers.
“We know our communities are more resilient, innovative, economically viable, and happier places to live when we embrace inclusion.
“This Third Action Plan will help guide key priorities for the State Government as part of its 10-year vision to build a Western Australia for everyone.”
