The State Government, through Tourism Western Australia, has joined forces with Jetabout Holidays Singapore to promote travel packages to Western Australia.
The cooperative marketing campaign, which runs until the end of December this year, will be rolled out via online digital media, social media, travel search engine sites, and on Singapore’s premium websites.
It will involve promotion of travel and attraction packages to the Coral Coast, Perth, and South West regions.
Examples of travel packages offered include self-drive tours of the Coral Coast; a three-night stay on Rottnest Island, including a two-day Canon seminar for amateur photographers; and a three-day weekend break in Perth, which includes a helicopter flight over the city from Crown Towers.
This deal forms part of the $12 million international marketing boost announced by Premier Mark McGowan and Tourism Minister Paul Papalia in March, to grow the number of people visiting WA from overseas.
In the year ending March 2019, Singapore was WA’s second largest market in terms of leisure visitor spend, with 82,500 leisure visitors from Singapore spending $143 million.
As stated by Tourism Minister Paul Papalia:
“Singapore is a very important market for Western Australia – in fact it is our second biggest markets in terms of leisure spend.
“Offering packages to popular hotspots such as the Coral Coast, South West and Perth appeals to Singaporean travellers’ love for nature and wildlife, water and coastal experiences, and good food and wine.
“Growing tourism is key to the State Government’s plan to diversify the economy, create jobs and develop business opportunities.
“Increasing the number of people travelling here from overseas will help achieve those objectives, which is why we committed an extra $12 million to Tourism WA’s international marketing activity.
“We hope to see thousands more people come to WA as a result of this surge in activity.”
