Hawkesbury City Council will host a screening of a new documentary about the effects of the 2019/2020 bushfires on the Hawkesbury community.
The film, Dancing with the Devil, features interviews with community members from across the Hawkesbury including St Albans, Colo Heights and Bilpin, who recollect the impact of the fires and continue to display resilience as they deal with the aftermath of the extraordinarily challenging event.
Commissioned by Hawkesbury City Council and funded through the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program, Dancing With The Devil is a poignant study of resilience in an age of climate uncertainty, featuring brave, charming and unconventional characters.
Light refreshments will be served ahead of the screening from 1:15pm – 2:15pm.
The film screening will be followed by a short Q&A with the film’s producers, journalist Sarah Allely and film maker Bill Code from Wedgetail Pictures.
