Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery and local MLA Rita Saffioti were at Ballajura Primary School today to officially open its brand new early childhood centre.
The centre welcomed about 95 kindergarten and about 85 pre-primary students at the start of the school year.
The new centre includes two buildings, each with two modern classrooms, a kitchen and toilets, as well as a staff room and storage room.
Existing playgrounds have been relocated to make room for students to play on their vibrant new equipment. A new shed, hard and soft landscapes, and fencing are great finishes to bring the centre to life.
The new additions provide a highly functional and inspiring environment for young students to get the best start in their education.
A reconstruction of the existing car park will make it easier for parents to drop-off and collect their children.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“All the new and upgraded facilities top off a very exciting start to the school year for families with young ones at Ballajura Primary School early childhood centre.
“I am really pleased staff will have room to plan and collaborate, while students benefit from more opportunities to explore and grow.”
As stated by West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti:
“At the 2017 State election one of my commitments was to deliver an early childhood centre at Ballajura Primary School and I am pleased to have delivered on that promise.
“The McGowan Government has provided functional and modern facilities for young students starting their education journey at Ballajura Primary School.
“Ballajura Primary School has achieved so much and is widely acknowledged as a leader in literacy and numeracy competency. A new early learning centre will help the school build on their successes and continue their great work in educating local children.”
