The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Board and the community will benefit from the experience and skills of two new members; experienced Accountant and Board Member Mr Gregory Nucifora and Stratford Medical Centre owner, Dr Amanda Roberts. They will replace two existing members who are not seeking reappointment.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Steven Miles congratulated the rest of the Board on their reappointments and welcomed the two new members, saying their experience would be of great benefit to the region.
“The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Board is a diverse group, consisting of five women and four men, of which two identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. All members bring a wealth of experience and skills to the Board and community,” Deputy Premier Miles said.
“I congratulate all members on their appointments and look forward to working with them to ensure Queensland’s health system continues to go from strength to strength.”
Member for Cairns Michael Healy thanked Professor Lee Stewart and Dr Sean McManus for their service to the Board.
“It couldn’t be a more important time to capitalise on the Board members’ strengths to continue to meet the demands of health service delivery in North Queensland,” Mr Healy said.
“I’m sure the Board will extend a warm welcome to Mr Gregory Nucifora and Dr Amanda Roberts, who will provide valuable contributions with their extensive professional backgrounds.”
