Senator for Queensland Anthony Chisholm today opened new Stage 2 building project at San Damiano College which will improve student educational outcomes.
Assistant Minister Chisholm said work on the development project was delivered with support of Australian Government funding of $1 million through the Capital Grants Program.
“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered six new general learning areas, outdoor undercover spaces, and various specialist learning areas for science, music, drama, design and visual art,” Assistant Minister Chisholm said.
“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at San Damiano College with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.
“The Australian Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those in San Damiano College, Yarrabilba, get the best possible education.”
Assistant Minister Chisholm said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at San Damiano College, as well as the many students who will follow in future years.
“The staff and students at San Damiano College have built a strong school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities. We strongly believe in providing the best possible resources so students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job.” Assistant Minister Chisholm said
