Local paramedics will enjoy brand new facilities following the completion of the new state-of-the-art Gisborne Ambulance Branch.
The facility opened its doors on 3 October 2023 and is home to almost 30 staff from AV’s Gisborne, Riddells Creek and Toolern Vale crews.
The project involved a complete knock-down and rebuild of the existing branch, replacing it with custom-built modern and safe facilities.
Ambulance Victoria paramedics are all smiles with the new Gisborne Ambulance Branch.
The Robertson Street branch includes a four-bay garage for ambulances, four rest and recline areas for paramedics to recuperate, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking to make sure paramedics are safe.
AV Acting Area Manager Matt Corcoran said the completion of the new branch was a great milestone for the community.
“This new, purpose-built branch ensures our paramedics have the facilities and support they need to quickly respond to emergencies and assist in our efforts to save lives,” he said.
“The new fit for purpose facility has come at a great time as local crews had outgrown the previous branch built in 1981.
“Modern facilities like these are a community asset and contribute to better health outcomes for our patients.”

The branch was funded by the Victorian Government’s Ambulance Victoria Development Program and delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) in partnership with Ambulance Victoria.
It’s one of more than 30 new ambulance branches built since 2015.
