New go-to-guide set to further empower WA strata participants

  • WA Strata Living Guide aims to simplify key strata information for Western Australians
  • Guide expands State Government’s strata support resources
  • Now available online at www.landgate.wa.gov.au

A new online resource has been launched to further support the many Western Australians who own or live in a strata property or are looking to buy or sell one.

Developed by Landgate, the WA Strata Living Guide aims to support strata participants with information on common strata issues, such as dispute resolution, by-laws and renovations and repairs.

The WA Strata Living Guide is the latest addition to the State Government’s strata support resources designed to give people more direct access to the information they need on strata.

This includes the Strata Enquiry Line which was established in 2021 to link callers directly with a strata specialist, following the major strata law reforms of 2020, and receives an average of 300 phone calls per month.

The guide will continue to be updated in line with industry and strata community feedback as well as any further updates to legislation.

Visit the Landgate website to access the WA Strata Living Guide and additional strata titles resources:

As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:

“With more than 338,000 strata lots in WA, including an additional 4,000 compared to the same time last year, there is a clear need for the WA Strata Living Guide, which offers clear and accessible strata information for West Australians.

“Strata law can be complex and it’s fantastic that this resource will continue to evolve in line with feedback to ensure it remains a relevant resource in the years to come.

“Apartment and strata developments help create more vibrant, dynamic and active communities, as demonstrated around the world. As a State Government, we are using every policy lever we can to facilitate new apartment and strata developments, providing more Western Australians with choice in where they live and critically boosting housing supply.”
