New Gosnells Medicare Urgent Care Clinic Location

Department of Health

Western Australians living in Perth’s south eastern suburbs will have access to free urgent medical care closer to home with the opening of the permanent location for the Gosnells Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (Medicare UCC) at Unit 1, 2227 Albany Highway, Gosnells.

The Gosnells Medicare UCC offers walk-in care, seven days a week across extended hours – entirely bulk billed.

The Gosnells Medicare UCC is equipped to treat a range of urgent, but not life threatening, conditions and injuries. This could include a cut, viral infection, rash or sprained ankle.

Importantly, this clinic is completely bulk billed, meaning more people can access high-quality care quickly, at no cost – all they will need is their Medicare card.

The Gosnells Medicare UCC delivers on the Albanese Government’s commitment to make it easier for people in Western Australia to get the urgent treatment they need – from highly qualified doctors and nurses.

It will take pressure off the Armadale-Kelmscott Hospital. In 2023-24, more than 40 per cent of presentations to Armadale-Kelmscott Hospital were for semi-urgent or non-urgent conditions.

Across Australia there has been over 1.1 million visits to Medicare UCCs.

The eight Medicare UCCs in WA have already seen more than 130,000 presentations.

Nearly a third were visits from individuals aged under 15 years old. Almost 20 per cent of weekday visits have taken place at 5:00pm or later.

The Gosnells Medicare UCC is commissioned by WA Primary Health Alliance.

“There have been more than 128,300 presentations across the eight Medicare Urgent Care Clinics in Western Australia, meaning patients have been able to receive urgent care quickly and for free.”

Quotes attributable to Member for Burt, Matt Keogh MP:

“The opening of the Gosnells Medicare Urgent Care Clinic will ease pressure on the Armadale-Kelmscott Hospital.

“The opening hours are extended so it won’t matter if it’s after hours or on the weekend, locals can get the care they need close to home.

“I know for families like mine knowing this health service is available is invaluable and it’s only a Labor Government that delivers this for our community.
