Hollywood Private Hospital has launched a new cardiothoracic service that gives patients in Western Australia greater access to life-saving bypass and valve replacement surgery.
The Perth hospital, backed by owner Ramsay Health Care Australia’s 25 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery, has begun offering procedures at its new multi-million-dollar, purpose-built theatre.
The facility boasts state-of-the-art technology, including an advanced cardiac monitoring system and a device that rapidly analyses patients’ blood to ensure they receive the best treatment in the timeliest fashion.
Hollywood Private CEO Peter Mott said the upgraded service moves the hospital towards delivering a comprehensive facility for heart health, which will be completed when its new emergency department opens in 2021.
“The new theatre will provide a vital service to those who present at the emergency department with symptoms and are then referred to a cardiothoracic surgeon,” Mr Mott said.
“Patients will also be offered a number of other standout services at Hollywood, including Ramsay Connect and Ramsay Health Plus, to ensure the best standard of support, post surgery,” he added.
It means patients from around the state can be treated for all their cardiac needs at one location – taking the number of Ramsay’s Australian hospitals offering this service to 10.
Hollywood will also participate in the WA Cardiac Outcomes Registry, further enhancing its focus on positive patient results.
