A ceremonial ‘sod-turning’ continues major redevelopment at Tanunda Recreation Park as part of The Big Project.

The Barossa Council received $580,700 towards a $1.45 million investment in a multi-purpose junior oval, three cricket practice nets, storage shedding for cricket and bowls, and associated civil works.
Mayor Bim Lange said the project is a direct response to clubs that need room to grow, providing facilities that can grow with them.
This will deliver much-needed extra space and multi-use, grassroots facilities that our sporting clubs are crying out for, which means they can play, train and participate longer and more often.
Member for Schubert Stephan Knoll said the success of to attract state government funding continues.
“With the upgrades to the Tanunda Oval almost all of the pieces of the puzzle are in place to provide modern sporting facilities right across our region,” he said.
