Katanning’s new modern administration and civic centre is set to become the ‘heart’ of future business and community development to create a vibrant town for the future.
With investment of $1.8 million from the State Government, part of the old Katanning Hotel has been redeveloped into the Shire of Katanning Administration and Civic Centre.
The building, housing the Shire of Katanning administration office, new council chambers and community gardens, was officially opened today.
The new civic centre is part of the continued revitalisation of the Katanning Heritage Precinct, to transform the town into a sustainable regional centre for the future.
As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:
“The McGowan Government is committed to investing in our regions to create jobs, support economic growth and drive business development.
“Katanning is a key agricultural region, but also a growing regional centre offering a diverse mix of government, community, retail and business services.
“I look forward to seeing the new civic centre supporting future business and community development projects for Katanning.”
